I like to imagine there’s a huge library
waiting for me to manage throughout eternity.
Long, long corridors, light airy windows,

coffee pot always on, an angel or two returning
a book

always a flower in bloom outside
in a garden perfectly symmetrical

stone benches that never feel cold
because the light always shines

no clocks, there is no time here

time to read and fingerprint each book,
each page. Time to realize that many I’ve
already read but I never took the time to meditate

on the words. Aisle 1, seat 2, Study of Psalms

no UPC’s, no copy machines, only a skylight,
familiar faces & the hope of whoever
the next person is through the door—
I recognize them….

The Life is In The Blood

Our skin is a pearl outside the casing,
and the blood we depend on for life,
runs just below the surface. We also require
another covering. A daily application
of the blood shed from Calvary

a warm bath,
soft residue from rest.

Reference: Lev. 17:17 a beautiful passage of Scripture. Even medical science will tell you that the blood is what keeps us going. We are saved
by grace, and grace alone, but the blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness and purifies.
IT’s a covering and a powerful protetion.

Dream

There are no trees in the room,
not even a bonsai. Nothing in need of water,
but nothing withers. You appear and stretch
your hand forth as a bud.
The shutters clatter,
the wind comes as light between many spaces.
Your words do the same, remove darkness,
hold back the sea.

Minimal

when sunlight dances off sea water,
it appears to be blue
and I always wondered if its color
goes deep inside to where the sound becomes muffled
and that is where each day is kept.

Still Friendship

Somethings I have learned about friendship over the years:

It’s not permanent

Sometimes toxic

A fine one is rare, but doesn’t have to age.

It can be like a balloon, sometimes light, airy,
other times delfated, quiet, but still viable.

It’s like the night, all quiet and sad during the silent times; then bright as the morning when two hands shake.

It doesn’t always die because another does.

It cannot be bought, sold, traded or stolen but it can be lost.

It always begins to die off slowly after a failed love affair.

Frienship should bloom but never go beyond the meaning
of the word-
